Zeche Zollverein

This industrial heritage site- disused mines, assembly halls and factories, now serves as a location for exhibitions, museums, dance events and concerts. Since 2001, the Zeche Zollverein is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The title of UNESCO World Heritage Site is only awarded to special towns and sites which are of great cultural value due to their uniqueness and authenticity.

The Zeche Zollverein in Essen offers almost everything: history, architecture, design, culture and art. There is lots to discover, however be sure not to miss the Ruhr Museum Essen, the Works Swimming Pool, the red dot museum and the solar power plant.
